I feel so pathetic. Today the only thing I did was buy a pack of greeting cards (blank on the inside) with my name on the front so I will be prepared to do something tomorrow and later. I've been depressed all day and I'm with someone who seems totally oblivious to this and doesn't care that I am so low. I guess my gift to him is just keeping my mouth shut and suck it up. Today I called my cousin and made arrangements for me to pick her up next Tuesday or Wednesday and visit our high school friend who is home-bound with illness. My cousin has MS and doesn't get out much since she uses a walker and has a great fear of falling. Our friend has lupus with complications and had to move in with her daughter. My cousin and I had a great conversation and I feel like it brightened her day as much as it brightened mine.

Back at work - then drove down to the beach. I dropped off a 'Thinking of You' note in the mail to one of my mother's friends. Her friend, Jean, is in her 70s and has severe arthritis - suffering a lot of time in pain, but always with grace. I wrote her a note and told her I was thinking of her.

Tried to be helpful to patrons at library in many ways. Stopped by my mother's house and ate an early dinner with her, called my friend to check on the status of her granddaughter and talked with my aunt on the phone (just a check in call). Didn't do my best today in giving.
