Profile Information
- Why I'm choosing to give:
- I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 1997 and had to take disability retirement from teaching reading in the primary school, a job I absolutely loved! The last couple weeks I've had a flare up or possible exacerbation and I'm hoping the 29 days of giving will help lift my spirits and motivate me to work on being as healthy as possible in spite of my MS.
- What I'd most like to receive:
- Healthy body, mind and spirit means energy, cognitive ability and feeling close with God and church friends.
- How did you hear about the 29-Day Giving Challenge?
- my pastor recommended the book
- About me:
- I am 57 years old and have Multiple Sclerosis, I was diagnosed in 1997 and had to take disability retirement from a teaching job I loved. Then in 2009 I had chemotherapy for breast cancer. I am currently enjoying 3 Grandchildren, singing in a Praise Band and singing in a church choir. I've also learning how to quilt and scrap. I'm working on the goal of being as healthy as possible in spite of my MS.

- At times I feel having "2 diseases" is unfair but it could be worse. I still am able to do a lot. I take care of the household, volunteer, walk & even drive! I just do things extremely slow ~ the FATIGUE & sometimes pain is terrible. I consider myself an optimist & keep busy with my husband, family and friends. In March it became necessary to have an ICD implanted. With heart failure I guess this sometimes happens. I am over that hurdle and can only see good things to come in the future. After reading 29 Gifts I realize I have been "giving" all along. Imagine that!!!
