About me:: I am a 52 year old female who is disabled with various disabilities. I was encouraged by the woman on the Today Show, so I decided to take this challenge. I have been disabled for ten years; before that I have raised 4 children - my youngest is only 15, I have done restaurant and hotel management and I am a yoga teacher,but not currently working due to my health. I lost my first husband 11 years ago to colon cancer. My youngest was only 2 years old. I have remarried 7 years ago and moved away from where we used to live for a new start.

But it's funny -- over this week, for the first time, I have really noticed my daughter showing tons of patience with her brother, and encouraging him along. I also found a note he wrote to her that said "Dear Eva, I love you because you let me sleep with your stuffed animals. Love, Max."
It was adorable! So perhaps they WILL someday be friends?
So where is Granite Falls, NC? Not sure if I mentioned, but I'm right outside of Raleigh --
Yes, my ex-husband is alive and well. Actually, he lives just a few miles away and is very hands-on with the kids, as we both now share custody (this was something we worked up to just last year, as I had started off with sole custody). I really have no complaints here -- it's been 4 years since our divorce and we've managed to set any differences/problems aside and focused on being the best co-parents we could be. It has seemed to work out well for our kids, so I feel blessed.
SO my first question to you: did you get your MRI results? I'm hoping you got some answers? How is the vertigo? My best friend's mom has been suffering from this for months now and is going thru many rounds with doctors to figure out where it's coming from. I'm so glad that you have a husband who is so supportive and understanding...it must be a difficult time.
Well it's great to hear from you -- I'd like to know how you are feeling this week. I'm sure that your reading of Cami's book has got to be a good thing. I laughed at you reading 3 books -- I have a tendency to do the same thing, but somehow I never manage to finish any! One book that I love that has helped me through a very difficult time was Miguel Ruiz's "The Four Agreements." Maybe google it, if you haven't heard of him?
And lastly, I want you to know that I will be praying for your health and your comfort.

As for me, I'm 41, and a mother of two beautiful kids, ages 6 and 8. I just got remarried last month to an absolutely wonderful man and we are blessed to have my mom, dad and stepmom all living down here now ("here" is just outside of Raleigh, NC, as they all used to live in Long Island NY (mom) and Northern VA (dad and stepmom).
So how is the challenge going for you so far? I've really enjoyed it, although I haven't blogged as much as I would like. Perhaps I can do that tonight...
Have reached out to an old friend via a handwritten note (why don't i do this more??), surprised a teacher with flowers and next week, will be babysitting for a family that i recently met who really need some alone time together.
I find myself thinking each night, "what can i give tomorrow?" and it's really put me in a whole new frame of mind. that's a good thing!
