You go, girl! I have been trying to do that too. My aunt has a system where she cleans out one drawer or cupboard a day. After they are all clean she starts over with the first one. Works for her! Love your blogs! Keep it up!

Oh my goodness Melissa, I feel like this every day! I second guess myself constantly, and beat myself up for things I haven't done. I think most women do. But believe me, it's a dead end street. It doesn't help get things moving in the right directi…

That's a great way to look at it Kathy! We all need to keep an open mind about what the universe has to bring us :)

Yesterday was a crazy one. My schedule was jam-packed with back-to-back appointments all day, but it was surprisingly easy to give when you're out in humanity. The days at home are harder! First, I carpooled with my friend who's having car trouble,…

Hi Sarah, I like how you've listed both gived and received. That's a great idea! I used to keep a gratitude journal, and it is amazing to see how many good things come your way in a day.

I'm one of those people who would be sooo happy to have that heat Karen! Up here in NY this week, we've had a pretty major snowstorm that dropped 2 feet of snow. The roads have been icy and hard to travel on, and the winds blew for 3 days straight a…

Profile Information

Why I'm choosing to give:
Like Cami, I need to stop thinking about myself so much, or maybe I should say I need to stop thinking about what's wrong, or what I don't have, and start thinking about what I have to offer the world. Why did God put me here? He put me here to love.
What I'd most like to receive:
Just the knowledge that I am working towards God's purpose for my life, oh and a little love in return is always nice!

Day 8

Well, nothing remarkable to report today. I gave the usual gifts to my children and husband. Cooking, cleaning, teaching and just generally keeping their affairs in order. My elderly father lives with us, and he was going out today to get his car inspected. I remembered that my husband woke me up this morning with his loud scraping of the ice on his windshield, and I knew my dad's truck would be icy too. So I went out, started up the truck, and proceeded to brush and scrape all the windows. Ever… Continue

Day 7 - A gift to myself

I did give things to others today - time, prayers, attention, love, acts of service. Being a mom and wife, it just comes with the territory. I also gave a gift of homemade jam & cookies to a friend. However, the best gift was the one I gave to myself. I have been living in a state of disorganization in my home for sometime now. I have a nasty habit of letting things slide, and then pretty soon I have mountains of mess on my hands. As a homeschooling mom, this makes it particularly hard to be… Continue

Day 6

Yesterday was a crazy one. My schedule was jam-packed with back-to-back appointments all day, but it's surprisingly easy to give when you're out in humanity. The days at home are harder! First, I carpooled with my friend who's having car trouble, and dropped her off at the YMCA where she teaches a fitness class. When I came back to pick her up, I brought a nice hot breakfast sandwich and some juice for her. She was thrilled! The third give was at the post office. I was walking in and saw an olde… Continue

Day 5

I'm learning some interesting things on this journey. Sometimes it's hard to give because all your gifts are rejected. We sometimes forget that there are two sides to that coin, giving and RECEIVING! I did give some things today. Probably more than I'm aware of actually. I gave hugs, smiles, compliments, applause, prayers, and many acts of service, but the gifts I most wanted to give, couldn't be received by the person I wanted to give them to. Anger, anxiety, depression, stubbornness, and apath… Continue
