01-06-13 VJG Girlfriends - A Treasure to Appreciate
Knowing how our road has been challenging as we've been dealing with my husband's cancer, a friend of ours stopped by yesterday to bestow on me and Gerry her kind and thoughtful gift of home-baked lasagna. She also included asparagus, a loaf of baguette bread and even a bottle of wine directly from her family's recent trip to Spain. To top it off, she also gave us a container filled with home-baked Christmas goodies!
She gave us a gift of love and I gave her back a much needed listening ear too. I put on a pot of coffee and brought out some of my own sweet and savory treats for us to share as we picked up from where we left off, as girlfriends are known to do.
Add together freshly brewed coffee in pretty Mary Engelbreit "Oh So Breit" coffee cups + a few hours of 2 girlfriends catching up on each other's lives + my own gifts of homemade goodness shared with my friend + faith and spirituality = 2 uplifted spirits.
Life is good! Thank you God for my good friend. (Name withheld to protect the innocent! LOL!)
Hope you like all the graphics. They offer a visual depiction. It's almost like you could sneak a peek into my kitchen and have a glimpse of the time my girlfriend and I shared yesterday. Come join the party! Girlfriends everywhere are welcome!

Wouldn't it be so cool to plan a day when we are all sharing conversation, albeit over the phone around our own kitchen tables or in our own snuggly chairs? How cool would that be, huh ladies? Our own little women's retreat!

what would we do without our girl friends? they are definitely one of God's greatest gifts, in my opinion. i'm so glad you got to spend this time with your friend, who obviously knew instinctively just what you needed right at that time. you and Gerry are constantly in my thoughts and prayers.
