29-Day Giving Challenge

2010: 29 Gifts In 29 Days, Version 2.0

Does this look familiar?

Yep, I'm going for it again here in the New Year. I left off with my blogging somewhere around Day 13 or 14 last time because of two pressing deadlines, but I'm going for it again with a fresh start and a new attitude.

I think I tried to get too fancy pants with the journaling aspect last time. I wanted to include appropriate pictures, really wanted to make the blogging substantial in quantity and quality. I got caught up in feeling like I needed to do more than one thing every day and I also went overboard when it came to spending money for the gifts, buying people dinners and lunches and so forth.

This is version 2.0 of the giving challenge and it's a slimmed down, trimmed down version of the game for me.

Here are the rules I'll be playing by:

  • It's one gift each day. It can be more than one gift, but if I give one gift, no matter what it is, I'm successful in my giving and I've accomplished my task for that day.
  • I'm going to document the gift by blogging about it. I don't have to muss and fuss with graphics or try to be witty. This is the humble, simple and honest version of the game.
...and... I think that's it. I have only those two rules for myself.

Today's gift was writing and mailing two long overdue thank you notes for gifts I was given for my birthday and for Christmas.

Th-th-th-th-That's all, folks!

P.S. - If you don't know what this is about or you would like to join me in the challenge go to The 29-Day Giving Challenge for more information and/or to join. My previous posts about the challenge are on my page, which is here and also on my Live Journal blog, which is here.
