29-Day Giving Challenge

Today I regifted something that I loved. It was a piece of art that is made of metal and shaped like a flower. It is bright and cheery. I decided to give this to the custodial woman at our girls' school. She is a great role model for all of the girls. She is a completely competent woman doing everything from fixing the boiler to riding a lawn mower, to sanitizing everything to keep our kids healthy. To boot, she comes in everyday with her hair curled or braided, wearing make-up and always in a great mood. Her children are grown. I gave her the flower to hang in her windowless office on the Lower Level of the school. I am hoping it will bring her a little joy just like she brings to all of us!

I am expecting nothing in return for giving but have been given a few things. Yesterday a friend's mom handed me some coupons for a store that I was going to today. She saved me a lot of money on a comforter I bought (so i bought her a little gift that I will be giving in a few days.) Today my neighbor brought me a cool sweatshirt that she no longer fit into it. I LOVE IT.

I am having a great time doing this.

Yesterday I wrapped up a hat a scarf for my daughter that I picked up for her. I would have most likely have given it to her anyway because she needs one for this winter but...I wrapped it and wrote a note to her to go with it. She seemed happy. Also yesterday I invited my neighbors over for dinner to welcome a new family to the neighborhood. This was planned before the gift giving started so I did not count it into these 29 days. It was a lot of fun and our new neighbors were delighted.
