I started a group months ago called blankets4babies on here. At that time, I was trying to declutter my life as well as my house and had contacted a nearby Iowa hospital to see if they could use some blankets (in order to get rid of an abundance of yarn). An administrator at the hospital let me know that they were always in need of blankets for families who had lost their beloved angels. I had never really thought about it but, she said that often these families come in with nothing and then have nothing to wrap their babies up in and that a blanket makes a world of a difference. Thus, blankets4babies was created. There are now 10 members in the group...10 amazing, beautiful women. They knit, crochet, and sew adorable blankets. These members have never met but are most definitely united with a special bond. For me personally, this allows me to focus on something other than the personal trials and tribulatioins that I often think about daily. When I am knitting, I have no time to worry! Our first set of 29 blankets was delivered by me on Thursday to the hospital that began this journey. It is our hope that these blankets will make everyone who comes in contact with them know that we care and someday put a smile on their faces. I feel so very blessed and honored to have delivered the first 29 blankets to St. Lukes. Our next project is to a hospital which will be using some of the blankets in the NICU over the incubators and others to whatever they feel best.
