A Glimpse at the Future Perhaps
My neighbor girl graduated high school this June. Her mom asked if my 12 year would like to help serve at the party for pay? I offered that we would both help--no payment required.
I totally get that Mom wants "to be there" at the party. Who wouldn't want to enjoy the celebration of her daughter, friends and family without worrying about the comfort of guests? I kind of put the words in her mouth.
Turns out that my daughter leaves for church camp today and cannot help. So, I will be solo. Still, it will be a joy for me to watch my friend (neighbor) enjoying this celebration of her very successful daughter.
I haven't been around high school students and young adults since . . . I was in h.s. It will be a treat to see "what" they are like. Perhaps a glimpse as to the future of my wonderful daughter.
(I am a little sad that I don't get to say goodbye to my daughter at the camp bus. She is giving herself to allow me to help the neighbors.)

Great gift. I had a dinner party once and had my high school neice and her friend help serve and it was awesome and they had fun too.
