29-Day Giving Challenge

i have a confession to make: despite my good intentions, i am not doing too well at the self-care thing. somehow it makes me feel selfish to do nice things for myself on a regular basis. i'm not sure why that is. i've skipped several days already and am unsure whether to just pick up where i left off or if i should start over again.

on a lighter note, i made a gag gift for my son's birthday. he always puts something on his list that is totally out of the question just as a joke - this year it was a $130,000 diamond encrusted television set LOL. i got a picture frame and some fake jewels and made a scaled down replica of it. my husband and i will drop it off at his apartment tomorrow since we have to go to the VA and it's just down the road.

fun gift with that diamond TV!!! That ought to make him laugh.

So I did bust you on your self-care round.
I'm no expert, but it is my opinion that you should start over ... because you deserve a FULL, uninterrupted round of self-care ... and I don't care how many times you have to start over to get that.
Self-care has been the biggest giving challenge for me too ... we need to get past the idea that it is selfish; we'd be willing to give the same to someone else so why not ourself?

The fun you've had making that TV and the laughter you'll share with your son seem like they could be self-care gifts. So many poor souls seem to miss out on those things.

great picture.... When we take care of ourselves that is also a gift we give to others, especially our children.

I don't know whether you should start over or just pick it. I do know that after the hard part, getting over feeling selfish, this is an amazing round, I will enjoy hearing about it. I love the TV. It should give your son a good laugh.
