29-Day Giving Challenge

This morning I gave a word of encouragement to my husband. He is thinking of changing his career and it will involve a return to studying. He is really tossing the idea around and we have been discussing the different options and impacts. I told him that I am in support regardless of what options he picks. I encouraged him that any change is going to take a period of adjustment and that he should press on and make the changes. A good start to the day because as you speak positively you feel positive.

Thank you Lu. There is so much bad press about men and whilst mine is not an angel his heart is in the right place. The best gift for anyone to give or receive is one of love.Thankyou for adding me as a friend.

You are an amazing spouse - I too have a great man who enabled me to go out on my own and give up my fulltime job. I support him in any endeavor as well and to follow his dreams.

Good luck to your family as you both follow those dreams!

Hi Kim I agree with you it makes all the difference having a supportive partner to inspire and motivate you. He gave me the nudge to give up my full time job and start my own training consultancy about 18 months ago. The business had been set up since 2005 and I dabbled in it until he gave me a proverbial kick up the bum and said why don't you get into it full time. I haven't looked back since. Love it!
It is important to inspire and motivate others to achieve their full potential because I do not hesitate to encourage others to follow their dreams. Dream your life -then live your dream!

Not to be cliche, but what is that saying- Behind every successful man is a good woman, and you are being that good woman now, giving your support to his career change. My husband has been the same kind of support to me as I changed careers from psychologist to independent researcher. I am eternally grateful to him for his support and help in making this possible for me mid-life. So I would augment the saying, behind every successful person is a generous, kind, supporting spouse or partner.

It sounds like you are in a time of transition. These are the times that have the power to draw people together or to separate them. Your support is an incredible gift to your husband. I hope it contributes to many years of strength and happiness. Thanks for sharing this gift with us.
