Although I have not posted lately the challenge has not left my heart or mind..... I do still strive to continue with small gifts of giving and random acts of kindness to brighten someone else's day. Continuing to spend a few hours every other week donating much needed platelets is just part of the family routine now. We have received more joy from this act of giving than we actually give. 2 or more hours hooked up to a machine with my daughters next to me has allowed us to develop new friendships with the employees, volunteers and other donors. For those hours are filled with laughs and stories. The Thanksgiving and Christmas holiday was a time for the basket brigade to be put into action. A few baskets of food delivered to those in need became a small gift formed by my daughters. Knowing all too well what that can mean to a family I was eager to assist in any way I could but more so , so very proud of my daughters for their selfless random act of kindness. December was a month of giving of special time to those who needed it, baking and sharing, watching little ones from time to time and lending an ear or shoulder to someone who needed it to cry or vent. Opening our lives to others who are alone and hurting. With the New Year approaching my goal is to continue this positive lifestyle of giving daily. Happy New year to all....may all our small gifts make large changes in the lives of others...
