29-Day Giving Challenge

I believe I am a good person and good things do happen to me in return. I am very grateful for the fact that a have a successful business, a wonderful family and group of friends and a happy and a very comfortable life.

Without meaning to sound arrogant, when something bad happens, I do feel a bit hard done by and undeserving of such fate because of the good I do.

Take my cat running away for example, or how my marriage ended. I didn’t deserve such heart-ache.

Over the years I have come to realise that my marriage ending was the best thing that ever happened to me. It was a gift, although I didn’t realise it at the time.

I couldn’t figure out what lesson there was to be learnt by my cat leaving until she returned.

What I learnt from this experience is that:

1) Bad things can happen to good people. It’s how you deal with the bad fortune that counts.

2) Positivity and keeping an open-mind is essential.

3) Prayer and alternative, holistic avenues are too.

4) White light meditation is powerful.

All in all, I must learn to accept that I am not immune to bad fortune and cherish every good gift that comes my way.

I have an abundant life and for that, I am grateful.

A very touching post. Thank you for your honesty~ Yes, no matter what it is best to look for the positive in the negative in our lives. You are a wonderful example of this. Have a lovely day Jolene!

i too believe in all of those lessons you have experienced. my husband is a hard worker with wonderful skills and has a great work ethic yet he was laid off, unemployed and couldn't find a job for 6 months, i work for a nonprofit helping people learn to read and write, yet my budget was cut more than 1/2 this year.
it is what we do with the experience that makes us grow. wishing you wonderful days of giving and receiving!
