Begin
Anywhere
(John Cage)
I saw the simple worded magnet and bought three as gifts. Standing in a beautiful food store I traveled an hour and a half to get to, on a sunny day in Annapolis...the words begin anywhere explained most of life to me at that moment.
My daughter was with me picking out coffee beans to grind for me. My eyes caught alittle zippered, colorful artsy bag. The picture painted on it was of a mama bunny and papa bunny driving a station wagon with luggage on top and lots of little bunnies in the back. The backdrop was an ocean view with a huge bridge crossing over it.
It reminded me of many trips I have made and of one my daughter will make to the opposite side of the country in a few months to live. I put the magnet inside the bag and told my daugher I was getting it for her to remember our day together. Begin Anywhere.
Why do we get so afraid to begin all over again? Maybe our fear of a beginning depends on what our last ending was like.
I have been beginning all over again for a few years now. If I can start to see my ending and it looks ugly..I begin again. But, not usually anywhere.
I want to begin again today...anywhere... and I want to do it with purpose and happiness and no thoughts of an end. I can too. The magnet said begin anywhere and we define our beginnings
Thank you all of my friends for your holiday blessings, love, hello's and thoughts to me.
May the beginning of your day start with love and be anywhere you want it to be!
I have had alot of beginnings this past week and beautiful gifts received and given....but...
I want to begin in a beach house with a fireplace and all my family around me or in a little villa in the south of France picking lavender in a field or Sweden trying on clogs......maybe the begin anywhere part may take alittle planning :)
Much love, xo
