When I remember, I take cloth bags to the grocery store. Sometimes I forget the bags at home before venturing out, so then I buy more cloth bags. So, I have an abundance! One store sells not just a tote bag, but a SUPER SIZED tote, really, you could fit the kitchen sink in there. They are my favorite.
When I went grocery shopping the other day, I remembered my cloth bags this time.hurray! I shop at a store where you put a quarter in the grocery cart before shopping and after you take your groceries out of the cart and to your car, you return the cart to the spot and get your quarter back. This store also does not bag your groceries. You bag your own. These few things really help reduce the costs of the grocery bill.
I was in line and in front of me, there was a dad I assume and his young daughter. They had a cart full of groceries and just a few paper bags. There was no way he was going to fit all of those groceries in a few paper bags. I offered him one of my favorite super sized totes! He smiled and said "thank you".
Then, when I returned my cart, I left the quarter in the cart, so someone could get a "free" cart for the day.
