29-Day Giving Challenge

Beauty really is in the eye of the beholder.

Today, a gift came back to me and it was awesome. I'm so happy because my husband decided just out of the blue to help with housework and vacuumed the entire downstairs. I know, it may not seem like much to some but to me it meant a great deal.

I almost spoiled his efforts when I started to get critical of his process, but I'm happy to say I was able to step back and just busy myself with a different task. At the end of his efforts he did an outstanding job and I made sure I let him know how much I appreciated his efforts and hard work. I truly believe this was done because he has be the recipient of several of my gifts the last nine days and he wanted to do something nice for me.

How ironic is it that the person I'm closest to is the one I forget about most often. I'm realizing on this journey that I need to work on letting my husband know just how important he is to me. I'm ashamed to admit, but I believe I've been taking him for granted for some time.

Day 7 - Once again, hubby was running late and couldn't be reached via cell phone. He was going to pick up dinner, but lost track of time talking to a friend. Instead of getting annoyed and making "smart" remarks about not wanting to eat dinner at 9 pm. I let him know I decided to eat something at home since he was busy and couldn't hear his cell phone. I also reassured him it was no a big deal and I was glad he had a nice evening.

Day 8 - Hubby knows he is getting a fancy new blue-tooth kit for his car. Instead of making him wait for the 25th I gave him is gift today and told him that I would take care of getting it installed in his car as part of his gift. He only had to trade cars with me on pre-arranged day. I think he liked that part more than the actual kit.

Day 9 - Read in newspaper about kiva.org. This is third time I've run across this organization in a week. I take it as a sign from the universe and make two small loans to group today. The PayPal payment system wasn't working right and it took forever to complete transaction, but it was worth it. I'm so excited to see what happens with the loans. I'm already looking forward to reinvesting.
