29-Day Giving Challenge

Friday''s gift was hospitality. We had a friend whose husband is out of town over for dinner. I tried a new recipe for pot roast, and it was the yummiest one I've ever made. She was very appreciative of being invited and brought me a plant as a gift. I think it's a perrenial, and I have just the place to plant it in my front garden if I can keep it alive until Spring.

Saturday, I was rather burned out from cleaning all last week (I'm a bad housekeeper, and when I do clean...about once every 10 days....I wear myself out doing it), so I gave myself a day of R & R. Played online Scrabble, and just vegitated. I did, however, burn a pink candle for an online friend of mine who was eagerly awaiting the birth of her third grandchild......she so wanted a girl this time since the two previous were boys. At 5:30 AM on Sunday, her first grandDAUGHTER was born! :-)

Sunday's gift was hospitality again. Invited the same friend whose husband is away over to watch the final Olympics Hockey game with us. She moved here from Vermont, and all of her kids played Hockey when they were young, so she is a big Hockey fan. Naturally, I had plenty of snacks around, too. We were a bit disappointed that the Americans lost, but it certainly was an exciting game!

Today, I didn't know what I was going to give, but I kept thinking that I should do something to help out after the earthquake in Chili. So, I went online and made another donation to Doctors without Borders. They do sooooooo much good around the world wherever they are needed, and I know they can always use donations.

Hope everyone here had as nice of a weekend as I did!
