Obviously busy the last few days but still busy on giving and receiving<3
Over the last few days my gifts to other have been a new pill box with larger day letters and easy openings for my 95 year old grandmother. I saw it in CVS and could not resist. Her other pill box has to be at least 10 years old and seems very dirty ... although she says it wasn't. She was however very excited about the new pill box.
I took my daughter out yesterday (just she and I and not her brothers) to buy a brush for her new doll and a brush for her. We had the best time being silly and bought my co-worker a gag Christmas gift and ran it over to her at work. We also delivered cookies to work.
Today was all about giving in so many ways. It was an absolute wonderful holiday with my family. It was peaceful for me compared to the turmoil that was occuring last year. I just kept simplifying .... and guess what I got play with the kids and their new toys.
In return I have received so many wonderful gifts. My bosses gave me a gym membership, museum menership for the family, and a book and bonus. They are the best and so amazingly thoughtful.
My kids gave me the cutest ornaments, handmade coupons, and a wallet. My best friend gave me a key necklace for starting over, some books, and a gratitude bead bookmark ... love it!!!! And my Dad remembered to buy stocking stuffers for me even though I do not have a stocking up this year. Too sweet!
Merry Christmas everyone.
1: It's Christmas time
There's no need to be afraid
At Christmas time
We let in light and we banish shade
And in our world of plenty
We can spread a smile of joy
Throw your arms around the world
At Christmas time
2: But say a prayer
Pray for the other ones
At Christmas time it's hard
But when you're having fun
There's a world outside your window
And it's a world of dread and fear
Where the only water flowing
Is the bitter sting of tears
And the Christmas bells that ring
There are the clanging chimes of doom
Well tonight thank God it's them instead of you
Feed the world
Let them know it's Christmas time
Feed the world
Do they know it's Christmas time at all?
3: And there won't be snow in Africa
This Christmas time
The greatest gift they'll get this year is life
Where nothing ever grows
No rain nor rivers flow
Do they know it's Christmas time at all?
Feed the world
Let them know it's Christmas time
Feed the world
Let them know it's Christmas time again
(Here's to you) raise a glass for everyone
(Here's to them) underneath that burning sun
Do they know it's Christmas time at all?
Feed the world
Let them know it's Christmas time
