Happy mid-February to all who happen upon this entry!
I have had such a fun month of giving! I used a heart shaped paper punch and punched out a whole stack of hearts from red and orange paper that are about 2 inches tall. I wrote little messages on each one, some say Thank you for all you do and on the back I wrote You're awesome. I've included them with payments or left them with tips for waiters/waitresses, left them on the counter for the postal clerks, stuck them on the box of fruit that was going to be put out in the grocery store. Others have positive messages or just something like 'your smile brightens our world" or "you are beautiful" and I left them randomly on grocery items, counters, and anyplace that someone would be sure to come upon them. I love sprinkling these little messages for people to find!
I also gave a donation to a local thrift store, MDA, and a little cub scout who was trying to sell some Scout-a-rama tickets in front of a local grocery store. I've donated items to a couple of people who were in need and I helped a friend by taking her dogs out a few times when she had to work late. I won some gift certificates to local restaurants and gave a few of them away so others could enjoy a free lunch/dinner. I wrote out and mailed 45 postcards to our troops overseas and will be following up with letters to all of them, and I just received another 50 names to write to, so will be starting that tonight. I've been writing to our deployed troops for about 11 or 12 years now. I also sent a couple of special notes to people thanking them for all the work they do, and called a staff person this morning just to wish her a good weekend. She sounded like she was almost crying and said "you don't know how much I needed that just now". That made my day to know that it brightened her day just a little bit!
I hope you all have a wonderful weekend of giving... to yourselves and others!
Sending lots of warm hugs and positive healing juju to everyone!
