I just sold a business and feel very transitional, too! I love the fact that you're giving to schools and helping students.
Good luck with going back to school. Keep us posted on how it goes and what you're studying. I'm sure you're going to find many new doors that open for you as your path changes.

You are right on to give your supplies to budding artists. Imagine one of them making it big someday because they got a chance to explore when they were just a teen. Perhaps some later day you'll pick it up again and go buy new stuff instead of trying to revive the old dried up junk.

Going back to school is fantastic. You'll have your brain firing on all burners with the new ideas and possibilities. And remember that creative people may give up one avenue only to find that they CAN take it with them when they try something else. I recently left teaching - probably not because I thought I was ready to, but nonetheless, I found myself assessing my other talents and have begun to put a new life together for myself. It's really quite exciting, especially because I'm open to all kinds of alternate ways to express my desire to teach. I can volunteer, write about techniques and mentor.

Consider this, even if you aren't making a million bucks right today, you are happy and moving forward and creating the next chapter in your life. Can't go wrong with that.
