I have read the Code of Conduct and don't want to give the moderator for the single 29 Day givers the wrong impression. I invited her to be my friend on this network and let her know in the personal message that I'm looking around for groups and networks for singles. I'm not looking for a partner, lover, or a husband and even if I were, I'd be happy to comply and use other Ning networks set up for that purpose.
I'm Catholic and believe that some people are called to get married and have children, some are called to be priests or nuns-and some are just called to be single! Single people often have more time to give than married people. Many singles don't have children to raise-in fact I've heard of singles helping their friends or siblings raise their children. And we don't have husbands or wives to please-unless we "shack up" meaning people behaving like married couples without the license, the wedding ring, or the wedding ceremony in church.
I tend to feel lonely as a single, but my father said that sometimes he was lonely-even when he still had the cat, my mother, and my brother in the house with him.
One of the married men in my church did talk about God using me as a single since having a wife and 3 children as well as a job which has him moving out of state-left him with only 15 mins to pray. And he and his wife needed prayers for something else on top of everything else that I knew was going on in his life-so he asked me to pray for them.
I've been looking for ways to use my time and talent to help others while being single. True, I have a problem with clutter and a storage unit I'm keeping even more stuff in for $70/month in and it would be great to eliminate some of the stuff in storage as well as to be able to walk around in my room without falling over or stepping on something, By taking the 29 Day Challenge I can help myself and others at the same time.
