29-Day Gift Giving Challenge: Day 5

After the challenges I had in the last round of the gift giving challenge, I've started keeping a list near me so that when I get an idea for a gift I can give I write it down and when it comes to the end of the day if I don't feel I've given something concrete, I can quickly scan the list and do what seems feasible.

Today is one of the days that list could come in handy, but it's also a day when I don't think I'll know which one I picked until perhaps 3am and I want to try to knock out a post every day before midnight if I can.

Today was about fun surprises, new projects and creative partnerships. Today in an informal chat with a good friend we came up with a plan to support each other as we are each moving through some changes in terms of our careers.

So the gift was opening up to give and to receive support and to exchange ideas with one another. I've always sort of seen myself as a lone wolf. Even when I'm in a romantic partnership I'm clear there's much of my life where the path narrows and I must walk alone. That's just my take on my incarnation this time around, but what I'm really starting to embrace is that creative and supportive partnerships are also something I'm good at and that I can be independent and still be actively engaged and creatively involved in that way.

So what I'd say my gift of the day was was putting forth this idea of forming a supportive partnership for idea, feedback and resource sharing as each of us is evolving and changing into our greater yet to be. I came up with six questions for us to answer and we're going to meet on Thursday to discuss our answers. The whole thing was completely organic, it wasn't like, "Okay it's a New Year so we should be doing something." It was more like, "Wow, yeah. This is happening for me and that's happening for you, so let's support each other and see what happens for us both!"

I'm sure many more gifts will come out of this partnership because I can see it's already bearing fruit for me in terms of getting my creative juices flowing. So there ya have it. That's my story for the day!

P.S. - If you don't know what this is about or you would like to join me in the challenge go to The 29-Day Giving Challenge for more information and/or to join. My previous posts about the challenge are on my page, which is here and also on my Live Journal blog, which is here.
