Today I give with consideration. I called my friend up because I knew she was struggling with a class that we took together. I suggested that we go to lunch so we can work on the homework together. I did my best to explain everything so that she could grasp the concepts and finish the homework on her own. Then when I was finished, I cleaned up her lunch for her so she could continue working on the homework and not be disrupted from her train of thought.
I still don't quite understand the receiving end of the gift giving process. Maybe after a few days it will become more clear? I definitely felt positive energy from being more aware of the gifts that I'm giving and the positive effect that I can have on other people.

Welcome! Your gift of consideration and help with homework was very thoughtful. You are off to a great start. I truly believe that the real beauty of the 29 Gifts Challenge is it opens up an awareness and appreciation of how we can make a difference in someone's life just by reaching out with a smile, a word of encouragement or a helping hand. As for the receiving, that for me is just the warm, peaceful feeling I get from reaching out to others. Also, as I have participated in this challenge, I have become more aware of the many gifts I receive from others. We cannot hold a torch to light another's path without brightening our own. I am glad you are here with us and I look forward to getting to "know you" through your blog posts.
You were awesome to give your help to your friend. I know she will do much better in class because of you. You are off and running with your challenge, and great day 1!
