Day 1 - Second Time Around!

I just finished reading the day 1 blog mindful giving of the woman who made her sweetheart breakfast and take away from he post the mindful piece of the puzzle. I was committed to starting again today and looking forward to it but didn't have anything specific in mind. An opportunity fell in my lap and it was a very "satisfying" give. I received an email at work today from the 10 year old daughter of a co-worker. She asked if I would email with her. He parents divorced not terribly long ago, the father remarried quickly but it hasn't worked out and the mother is remarrying soon. She spends every other week with her mother and she says her mother is gone a lot. I was careful not to step beyond what was appropriate, but I reached out to her and offered to be her pen pal anytime. She is also fond of my 17 year old daughter and wants to email with her as well, I told her I would fix her up! I hope I cheered her a little and reassured her she would always have a listening ear when she couldn't reach her mom. I was flattered that she felt she could ask me and I will be delighted to hear whatever she wants to share with me about her day.
