Day 10 Round 2 The best laid plans... go kaput! :)

We've waited all week for the ctas and Dogs movie to come to the indoor theatre here and today was the day I was going to gather up the great nieces and nephew and take them to the show. Before my feet hit the floor, however, my sister called to say she twisted her foot the day before and was convinced it was broken. So,,,,,,,,, I spent about 5 hours in the hospital emergency room waiting for an exray on her foot- not the cheeriest place to be, that's for sure. No kids to enteratin with animal balloons- mostly adults with cell phones on and a few teens with headphones to tune out the world. The only opportunity for kindness-sharing was with the ER nurse who had been having a busy day, for sure. I gave her a little bag of hershey's kisses and hugs to get her through the day. (hard to carry in the purse in the summer so I usually just have them to dispense in the winter, but grabbed some today from the stash (thank you, my angel).

On the way home the heavens opened up with a drenching rain, much needed by the farmers here, but it just added to the yucky day. I stopped at a roadside stand for a huge bag of nectarines to take home. When I dropped my sister off at her house, I gave half a bag to my brother-in-law, The last time I got a bag, he grabbed a few every time he stopped by, so i was really only guarding my own precious supply. LOL

We never made the movies so we'll try again tomorrow. That's always good for a few laughs and giggles.

In the meantime I'm gifting myself with some fresh fruit and a Harry Potter movie.

I hope you are finding endless opportunities to give...and receive... this weekend!

when my Dad was in the hospital last yr for 19 days, i went to the Russell Stover outlet store and bought 2 (3lb each) boxes of chocolates and took them to the nurses station on the 3rd floor. it was so good to see the nurses actually have fun looking for that "certain" piece of chocolate. Nurses need chocolate too! also love the animal balloon idea for the kids! great give!

I hope your Sister is ok. That sounds painful~ A shame you didn't make the movie but you made the best of a bad situation. Nice to gift the chocolate and nectarines! Yummy... Have a nice evening inside away fom the nasty weather. Enjoy the movie. xoxo
