I'm so glad I looked on the Giving Ideas forum tonight. Right off the bat, I see the post about WE GIVE BOOKS and I'm so happy to have been made aware of it! What a cool initiative! It's a collaboration of The Penguin Group and The Pearson Foundation to "combine the joy of reading with the power of helping others." They have many, many children's books online, accessible completely for free, and for every book you read on their site, they donate a copy of that book to a child in need somewhere in the world. I just read one myself and am sharing the site with everyone I know who I think would be interested in something like this. I can't wait to read some of the books with my cousin's little baby next time I go visit! He's almost 2 and he's soaking everything up now.
My give for today is getting the word out about this organization and I'm going to go ahead and read a couple of more books on there tonight.
