Day 14 ~ Round 4 Two Lonely Bagels
I went to the doctor and after I left the office, I wheeled down to the supermarket to buy some fresh veggies and brown rice for stir fry later. When I went past the bakery I spied two lonely bagels just sitting there on the shelf waiting for someone like me to stop and smell the aroma of fresh baked bread that can melt even the hardest heart that is determined to lose a few pounds. Well, I bought them and ate some of one while waiting for my ride. The fellow who picked me up was so keenly aware of fresh baked bread in my grocery bag he said, "What is that delicious smell, bread?" I said, "It is probably the fresh bagels I just bought." He said, "Oh to have a frest bagel." So I gave him one when he dropped me off at my door. It may sound like a small give but to him it was like getting a 20 dollar tip. There are times when a give like that can make your whole day and I think this did that for him. Blessings, Effie

i am the "Bagel Girl" for our school which means that once a week i pick up bagels which are part of the kids' lunch so i am well aware of the amazing aroma! i bet that was the highlight of his day as well.
