Day 1--yesterday, December 14

I read about this movement on CNN.com and thought, "why not?" This may be just what I need and perhaps I can help a few folks. So for my first day of giving, I took my daughter's REI polartec jacket that was only worn a few times to a man I know that runs the local homeless shelter and asked him to see that it makes into the hands of a child with no coat. He was very thankful, said they needed coats badly as the winter has been unusually cold and people just don't have the money to buy coats for their kids, even at thrift prices. I also gave him several unused toys for the kids at the shelter. A good start!
