Today I got a call from my daughter, middle of 3 girls. My daughter is 42 And she wanted to call last night late to tell me what happened to her son who is 8, a fun happy,
young boy, who tries so hard to succeed, but keeps getting put at the end of the line for Soccer
because he maybe runs a little slower. He tries out for acting parts at school and does'nt
give up and this recent one is the one that was the hardest. He was trying out for the lead part and
was encouraged that he could do it, and yesterday they chose the actors and he got a small part
and was so disappointed he was sobbing at home, and he does love acting and have talent
and such a desire to do well. He is intelligent and a very happy child. His Mom is a single Mom
and does so well and works so hard with her landscaping business, in the rain and bad weather.
I want so much for her, but she is very proud and independent and just is happy with her life and
her sons, she sacrifices so much for him.
So she went to the school to talk with the teacher, and explained how Joshua felt and all that has
happened in his life with parential disappointments and more, and that talk overcame so much more
for the teacher who obviously cares, and for Joshua and Jana. It breaks
your heart when you child tries so hard but fails. But with all the love and good advise his Mom
gives him he will do fine. He is fortunate to be in a school where the teachers do care.
I suggested we put him into acting classes as he loves it. So she will look into that.
So I sent my Daughter a card just now, with pictures of her and I when she was little about 2
and a picture of Josh when he was little with her. I also said how proud I was of her and her raising
of Josh, and I included a book called Her Journey, and said she should write the stories of her
life and Josh in the book as we forget so many in life. Don't we all wish we had?
Anyway I will share the pictures with you here. That is my gift to my daughter today.
My gift from her was the sharing of the story of her day and how she felt.
I must send myself that book :-)
