Day 20 and 21... smudging and sponsorying a child

Day 20... I decided to give myself a BIG give today and cleansed my apartment using the technique of smudging to clear out negative energies etc. Then I sprayed everywhere water with orange incense to welcome in positive new energy in my home and life. I then gave the place a really big clean with the orange water which was well overdue. I was exhausted by the end but felt I needed to take some action!

Day 21.... As I left work today I thought I hadn't given anything so far today. I decided to power walk home (yes in the freezing cold!) today in order to trim up and came across the Children's International charity who were asking people to sponsor a child. I had always wanted to do this in the past, so I thought now was as good an opportunity as possible. So now I look forward to seeing details of a little girl in India who I will be sponsoring each month for the next two years at least! Which feels really great.

Sponsoring a child is very special. You will definitely enjoy the letters and seeing them grow (I have 2 now - a boy from Africa and a girl from India). I still remember the first time I sent extra for my African boy's birthday. The whole village had a party and I have a photo of all these little kids dressed in their one good outfit with softdrinks on the tables outside, which they normally can't afford. Their neighbour wrote to me to say everyone danced for hours. It always brings a smile to my face.

Madonna, you've inspired me to cleanse my home as well. What a nice give to yourself ! This is the perfect time of year to clear out the old and welcome in the new. And, how fortuitous that your walk delivered you to something you have always wanted to do -- sponsoring a child who lives in poverty. Kudos to you!!

years ago my Dad sponsored a little girl in Peru through Children International. we all looked forward to the periodic letters telling about her. isn't it neat how chances to give present themselves? Hugs, Dawn
