29-Day Giving Challenge

Day 20 was Packing Party #2! Three of my girlfriends came over to help. They scrubbed my ovens, cleaned the fridge, and boxed up what they could. I'm a lucky, lucky girl ;) I bought all of us Connie's Pizza, and made sure one was veggie for those that were following the no-meat on Fridays for Lent.

After the "party," I walked one of my friends to her car and offered her some career advice and encouragement. She's been planning to leave her unfufilling Corporate job for months now, and is at the point of either taking the leap of faith or possibly regretting her decision to stay. To my surprise, she told me how she noticed a change in me since the last time we spoke...especially in my attitude. I was a lot healthier and calm; accepting and not trying to control anything. It was really nice to hear that from a friend that knows me so well, and I wondered if maybe the 29-day Giving Challenge had something to do with it. I really have noticed a shift, and I wish I could bottle up this spirit and save it for a gloomy day.

When she left, I gave her a tee from my old boutique to give to her cousin. I had some extras and thought he would appreciate it.

Also, I found 2 more old cell phones while packing and decided to bring them to work and donate them. There's still a box there collecting old phones to ship overseas to our military men and women.

It is great to notice the differences in shifting your attitude to giving. It makes all the difference in the world.
