day 20--grandma kay

i called one grandmother for day 1, and today i was wondering, "who do i know who really needs a gift today? could particularly use my reaching out?" and i thought of my other grandmother, my dad's stepmom, who i visited this past summer but before that hadn't seen in almost 10 years. she sends me a card and a little bit of money on my birthday and christmas, and i write back a thank-you note...her cards always say, "come visit soon!" and mine always say, "yeah! i'm planning a trip to LA soon!" and i never went. anyway, she's had a bunch of health problems this year, and a little while before i was there last summer she found out she has cancer. i've followed what's going on with her somewhat through my mom and my aunt, but i haven't reached out to her at all. so this evening i called a florist around the corner from her house and sent her some yellow and purple tulips--springy and cheerful--and the lady there said she wouldn't even charge me for the delivery since it's so close! thanks flower lady! (thanks google maps!) thanks to all you lovely givers!
