This morning I had a brilliant idea for a Christmas gift for Mark's mom and her husband! They just got married this last year, so Mark and I went to Hallmark and got them an "Our first Christmas" ornament. We took it to them this afternoon and told them to open it since we don't know if Mark will be here for Christmas. They seemed to like it. Then they took us out to lunch at a place where they give you a bowl of peanuts when you first come in and as you shell them to eat them you throw the shells on the floor. It was different, but we liked it!
When we left them, we picked up Mark's sleeping bag and wool blanket at the cleaners and got him a few more things at the store that he needs. He's supposed to leave again tomorrow morning. :-(
We went to the church supper and I took a fresh pineapple that I had bought. They decided they'd use it next week to make a fruit salad. After dinner, I rehearsed with the group that's working on the Christmas cantata. I can't sing, but I'm narrating. As a children's librarian, I'm good at reading! Mark sat through the rehearsal since he probably won't be here when we put on the cantata.
Then we went to my son's house. My daughter-in-law wrote us a check for the deductible on our car repair. I invited them to come to the cantata, the Christmas party, and the Sunday when I'm playing bells. I hope they will come. I keep trying to get them interested in church!
My husband is due back on his truck by 8:00 tomorrow morning. He was supposed to have gotten one day for every week he was gone (7.5 weeks!) but it's only been 6 days. He had to fight to get those 6 days. At least this time he will be doing runs in the NW through Christmas, which means he might get to stop by home occasionally. Please pray for his safety on the road as he'll be traveling through snow this time.

Mark will go in my prayer journal...and you will, too, Denise. Take care, I'll bet your Christmas program will be awesome.
Very thoughtful gifts given. I will pray for Mark to be safe as he is driving~
