day 26--self-care
i hesitate to "count" gifts to myself, but today was nothing but one. i feel pretty good as a result, and several moments during the day i consciously released myself from worry or guilt about what other things i could be doing and said, "you want to make cookies and mac and cheese and finish your book? okay!" just now i gave myself the gift of brushing my teeth after all that junk food. seems like a tiny thing but i usually brush my teeth in the morning before work and don't even notice how good it feels! i certainly take inspiration from all of you--seems like we're often reminding each other to take care of ourselves as we revel in giving to others...has Mbali written/posted anything on this question?

Yeah, read Mbali's "Throw Me a Bone." It's a good one, and I have a favorite line from it about how being born is validation that you are enough.
