Day 28 & Day 29- Completion of Round 1

Yesterday (day 28) my gift was a reunion with a former student who is now a gorgeous woman, married and with a toddler. We hadn't been in touch in years (maybe 15?) and I treated her to two hours of catching up over chai latte and breakfast at a favorite cafe. It was a gift for both of us.

For today's gift I gave some cute graphic-design-y buttons to our resident designer. They have sayings like "Death before Comic Sans," which is a bit of a joke since our organizations main font when we started was Comic Sans and Alicia has great contempt for the over-used font. Anyway, she laughed and laughed when she saw the three buttons. It was a fun give, partly because she is so good at receiving.

So, round 1 is over. The holiday- ugh- always kind of rough for me because I have some family baggage related to Christmas, and this year the added sorrow of my beloved father-in-law's rapidly declining health. Will anyone give me permission to do a self-care round for #2? ;-) I promise not to bah-humbug my way through the holiday season.
