29-Day Giving Challenge

I can say that I didn't give much today. It was a strange day. I started my new job and decided I won't be returning. It was an unhealthy place to work and what they do there does not resonate at all with me and my social work values as a therapist. Quite frankly, it was awful. I do have another job to go to, another offer came my way and I accepted, so knowing that made it easier to not return to the other place today. My career is important to me and I've worked very hard and paid alot of money for all my credentials and education. I refuse to work in an environment where I'm not nurtured or appreciated!
The one giving thing I did was while sitting in on a counseling session to observe, at this place, I said nice things to the patient. She was really hurting and it wasn't my role to say anything at all since she wasn't my client. But she needed to and deserved to hear nice things and I would have said them anyway, but saw it also as a giving. Tough day everyone, need to get refocused on giving and not crappy job experiences!

You respected yourself on this day. You stuck with your core beliefs. You refused to let your beauty be poisoned by the negativity of that work environment. You and others will benefit from your courage on this day.

Bad days make the good days shine brighter and you made that patient feel all the better for having come there even though it didn't work out for you that way. Who knows, maybe that's why you were sent there in the first place, just for her. Tomorrow IS a better day. Blessings! Effie

Lisa, I'm sorry that this job wasn't a good one, but so happy that you have another one! You are so awesome to have given this girl some kind words. I hope you have a good evening and tomorrow will be a better day! Sending you a big hug and pat on the back for realizing that that place wasn't agood match for you!

That does sound like a really tough day! You were able to notice someone else's sorrow and try to help her too - that's hard sometimes when you are going through it yourself. Amazing. x
