DAY 29!!!!!!
Last and FINAL day of challenge; but far from the "end." Today I plan on doing little things all day long! LOL! BUT... my main focus "GIVE" is a gift I never thought I could live without..... Some may think I am cheating a tad, as the gift will stay in our home but be granted to my son, lol, but he's 9, so in 9 to 10 years or so it will eventually leave the house?! ;) Anyways, years and years ago, my little cousin who lived with me at the time made me a dream catcher. I have kept it in my bed stand as I grew, married, moved, had a child, and moved again.... Only a few items have remained next to my bed, all very special. Last April, my son got into that special area for the first time and hung the dream cather made by my cousin up on a lamp on the nightstand. He questioned me about the dream cathcer and insisted it looked good on the lamp, inside I was going crazy but trying to respect his "taste" and let it be until he forgot about it and could quietly tuck it back nice and sound in the drawer. Unfortuantely, 3 days later, my cousin, a young adult now, committed suicide. I have let the dream cather stay just where Chay placed it for the past 18 months. Today I pass it on to be displayed in Chay's room, and for him to keep special through the rest of his life. Do you I believe that there was a deeper sign between my son finding this treasure just days before my cousin left this world; ABSOLUTELY. And maybe, this will carry as a sign to Chay that as he grows and experiences "dark days" that he can get through and hold on until tomorrow....
NOW.... as a continued give for weeks/months/years to come, I plan on logging onto to 29 Gifts multiple times a week and writing messages to fellow givers. This has been the biggest treat to me over the past 29 days, strangers words mean so much and have been such an inspirtaion. I feel like I know Lois and Deb especially!! LOL! (Cyber cheers ladies!) That was a very spedial gift for your son. I am so sorry you had to experience this loss, but to pass on your cousin's gift and special memory to your son in a way that will hopefully help him is a loving way to cherish your cousin. I am so glad to hear that you will be "visiting" us here often.

I just want to say I am sorry for your loss. I have lost friends to suicide and I know how devastating it can be. May your little boy be a daily reminder that each day is a gift.
