Day 29
So here it is: Day 29. I don't want to overstate things but it has been a transforming experience. The thing I learned is that I already give every day; I just need to be mindful of it and get the full benefit. Both Jesus and the apostle Paul stated that there is more happiness in giving than in receiving. The truth of this statement may be fully experienced personally if one doesn't want to take their word for it.
I learned that gifts come in many forms, money, time, attention, attitude. Money is like congealed time since we get money from handing over our time. Time is congealed attention since attention focuses us on the remarkable monodirectional medium called time. Attitude colors the quality of our attention and is the one thing that we completely control.
So today I again return to an old favorite: putting money under some stranger's windshield wiper. Since today is so special, it's going to be a twenty rather than a one. Let it flow, the totality of creation cannot be made poorer by giving something away, only richer by the gift of my attitude, abundance, faith, and love.

Congrats on 29! I really, really appreciate your sentiments and your articulation of the giving process. The notion about attitude coloring the quality of our attention is so resonant. I have been feeling grumpy today and know that I have been infusing my daily activities with that attitude. Your post is helping me to breath back into my day and start over :) And I also love your habit of leaving money under someone's wiper. I am going to steal that!
