Day 3

Tonight I went searching for an online site to donate to for my Day 3 gift. I found a link to charitywater.org on the Causes page. I love that 100% of my gift makes it to the cause, and that my $20 will provide clean drinking water for 1 person for 20 years. Amazing. I was drawn to the charity because I recently finished reading the book "Strength in What Remains" - a true story about a man who escaped the genocides in Ruwanda/Burundi in the 90's. I was so haunted by his description of what life is like in the poorest of countries without clean drinking water. I highly recommend the book - it was a serious eye-opener about the genocides, and also very inspirational.
