Day 4
I'm struggling to think of a give today. Do people plan their gives or wait for it to spontaneously happen? I guess I'm not into the routine of giving yet. The only thing I can think of is that my friend popped round and I made us a cup of tea!!!
Day 5
I do some voluntary work for the sports club where I play rounders. I'm secretary of the main committee and do teas and coffees on a Sat morning when the juniors are playing football. For me this is an ongoing give so I'm not singling it out for my give today. But one of the players, she looked about ten, came in and didn't have enough money for both pop and crisps so I told her to give me what she had but I did ask her to not spread this around as I didn't want everyone coming in looking for free crisps. (I'm trying to be giving but I can't afford to be that giving). I made up what was missing and put it in the till. My reward was the smile on her face.
Day 6
I went for Sunday lunch at my parents (nothing beats your mum's roast dinners does it?). I had talked about wanting a bird table for my garden for a little while and my dad (bless him) had made me one. His gift to me is my gift to the birds..does that make sense?......does it count?
Day 7
England has has the worst snow fall for many years and the country has come to a halt. But because of the roof on my bird table, the bird feed was not covered in snow. Is that not serendipity? That my dad had made the table in time for the day when it was needed most. Thanks to the snow I didn't see anyone today so all I could think to put was that I gave my mum some answers to a crossword puzzle. I'm not sure if that's stretching it but I'm happy with it as a give. Lol.
