Today started off very well; my husband and son went to the Home Depot Kids Workshop. (If you have young kids, this is a wonderful thing to do. The first Saturday of the month, Home Depot has a free kids workshop. On the first visit, the kids get their very own orange Home Depot apron. They get a simple project to build with the help of a grownup. When they finish, they get a certificate and a pin for their apron. My husband and son have been going for more than two years now, his apron is covered with pins and he can take pride in the wonderful projects he's completed: picture frames, flower pots, coaster sets - it's great stuff!)
My mother, daughter, and I went to brunch at a distant counsin's house. The food was delicious and it was fun catching up and learning about family members that we don't get to see very often. It was a nice time.
The afternoon has not been as nice. My daughter, who is almost 22-months-old, has been having the mother of all temper tantrums. We've had several hours of screaming and flattening herself on the floor, broken up by short periods of calm, usually because she wants to nurse and I've let her in order to have some quiet.
Needless to say, I'm not in much of a giving mood right now. All I've managed to do is give my husband and son some peace and quiet to enjoy their dinner while I dragged my daughter kicking and screaming down the hall.
I would be very grateful if someone out there in 29-gifts land would take his or her child to the next Home Depot Kids Workshop on March 3rd, then I can feel as though I gave someone information about a great thing to do with his or her child!
I'm hoping for a better day tomorrow, and a Patriots victory in the Super Bowl!

And p.s. my poor little girl was sick for much of the night and hasn't been feeling well today either. Everyone's allowed to be cranky and miserable when sick.
Yes, girls can go too, and mommies, aunts, grandmas, everyone!
My heart is with you...almost terrible twos?? My youngest who is 15 waited to make it Terrible Three's instead, hehe! You are a good mommy..and I am sure someone out there will benefit from your heads up on the Home Depot info! Take care...I hope your team wins..
