29-Day Giving Challenge

Day 5- a little gift just to be on the safe side.

Today's gift was the result of a little thought experiment. My work colleagues were organising to buy some sort of syndicate ticket for a very large lottery this week. I dont usually buy lottery tickets but I thought I may as well go along with the office flow and pitch in for a ticket. I then overhead another colleague saying he couldn't afford a ticket as they were a bit pricey and he just took on a large mortgage two weeks ago.

Of course, it was no big deal that he could not buy a ticket, after all, its some rediculously massive odds on winning so he was really just saving some money. However, I started to think through the other scenario. I began to imagine if the team's ticket came through and this one guy was the only person in the team that did not have a cut in the loot. I'm sure the team would share the prize with him anyway, but from his perspective it probably would never feel like his money. So, without him knowing, I threw in his share just in case our numbers come up. If so, I want this fella there next to me as our winning team treks up some rocky goat track in the Himalayan foothills (...yes, that was the other part of my little thought experiment...no...fantasy.)

Hope you're all having a fantastic and sharing week. Here's to goats and their tracks.

Cheers
Lachlan

i love the disclaimer, as well as the give. and hey, if you're going to dream, dream big! i like how you thought of how your coworker would feel if your group won and gave him a share without his having pitched in. Hugs, Dawn

goat tracks; huh?
Love that disclaimer, by the way. :D

It was great how you thought of the scenario/the other guy not getting in on the win and that you wanted to include him.

I really hope you all get to ramble on your goat track. It really was thoughtful of you to keep your colleague in the game. That is what makes a good team, sticking together. Good luck.
