Well, this second round is passing me by with lightning speed! My gives seem to come easier and easier, and opportunities continue to present themselves to me.
I hosted 2 families for Thanksgiving and we all had a great time. Tons of wonderful food made by my husband, mostly (who is the primary cook of the family), and wonderful celebration. I have donated books to charity through Barnes and Noble, made donations to the Salvation Army bell ringers, made a knitted cupcake with a candle and sewed a set of new bibs for my baby who just turned 1, gave away copious amounts of Thanksgiving food and pies to friends, spread the word about 29 Gifts to interested knitters at my favorite knit shop, bathed and put all of my children to bed to give my husband a break, wrote thank you notes and gave another 29 Gifts book to a friend today. I also had a small birthday party for my baby and invited her little buddies from my Mommy and Me class. She had a blast!
I have received many compliments from friends and strangers (as I got a haircut and continue to lose weight) lots of cuddles from my kids, love and admiration from my husband, time to spend an afternoon knitting at my favorite knit shop, inspiration and suggestions on how to start and grow a hand crafting business, and a wonderful surprise gift from my friend who joined the movement after hearing about it from me: a skein of beautiful blue Malabrigo wool! I was really shocked to receive this parcel in the mail... What a wonderful gift!
So I close with a heart heaving with more gift ideas, and infinite amounts of gratitude for all that I have. As ever, so grateful to Cami for being courageous enough to share her story, and start this movement.
