29-Day Giving Challenge

Day 8 Round 2 One can never have too many gives- or gifts!

Thank you to all my friends here for the kind words and encouragement! The gloom has passed for the moment and I'm my old annoyingly boisterous self. :)

Today I am driving to a nearby town (out here in the boonies everyhting is a ways away!) with tickets for a chicken barbecue drive-through dinner for a handicapped sports league. I sold tickets to the fundraiser to my friends here, and am doing the drive-through for everyone- delivering their dinners back here in Barker. Having limited mobility is sometimes frustrating but I'm a whiz at drive-throughs! :) All i need to do is get in and drive to the fire hall, they'll load the dinners in my van, I'll make stops on the way home and voila! A dozen or more gives in one swoop! Not to mention helping this program continue for the handicapable children and adults! Don't you just love those kind of days? It makes me feel so good it's like a sackful of gifts for ME in return!

Then, when I read the post about giving to water filters to save lives in impoverished countries, I decided I had to add that to the give list today. After all, don't I ask my angels to show me what it is I'm supposed to do, who it is I'm supposed to help? I'm sure that gift was a nudge for me to give as well, to contemplate the significance and symbolism of water...as a life force...as a perfect gift!

Blessings and *hugs* and +prayers+ to everyone today!

The dinner run was great. It was sold out, as a matter of fact, and many of the volunteers sold their own dinners to those who came to support the cause and were too late. I saw a couple I knew who had missed out as we were loading up and told them I had an "extra' if they wanted to buy it to support the cause. They were happy to share a meal and I was okay with leftovers back at home. Plus, the Challenger league got the extra money. Although our Lions Club chicken is the best, GIVING tastes better!
As for the water, www.raincatcher.org is the original project and you can watch the video I saw on CNN through thier link. www.wavesforwater.org is the founder's son's organization that is helping to get the filters to Haiti and the world. It is really an amazing concept, Deb.
