Anyone who knows anything about me knows that I am obsessed with the twisted-reality show The Bachelor. Yes, I have planted myself in front of my television and watched every single round of The Bachelor and The Bachelorette (get this, people, there have been fourteen seasons). I’ve experienced every sobbing, freaking-out, overserved, too-short-of-a-dress, and ‘most dramatic ever’ moment that the show has ever filmed.
Now some think this obsession might be a girl thing, but I beg to differ: my husband is equally (if not more) Bachelor/Bachelorette consumed than I am. It’s our guiltiest pleasure. And watching together is one of our most favorite times of the week.
On Day 8 I had some friends over to join in our hilarious weekly tradition. In addition to the comic relief the show provides, I cooked them a yummy dinner of salad, pasta, garlic bread, and the best dessert ever: monkey bread. Monkey bread is a piping hot, cinnamon-y, sugar-y, butter-y, melt-in-your-mouth pull-apart bread. I’d say, it’s pretty much what dreams are made of. And that’s just what we consumed as we watched Bachelor Jake’s dreams get dashed.
‘Cause I think the gift of good food, good friends, and incredibly not good TV is something we ALL can universally appreciate.
