29-Day Giving Challenge

Dear friends

Well, that wasn't just a big gap in blogging - I felt so burnt out at work, the mere thought of dreaming up and implementing a gift made me feel drained. Yes, even a little one. Even now (and after twice not getting it finished) 29 days of giving seems daunting to me. So, I'm going to let myself take it day by day, give when I can, and maybe once I've found enough of a rhythm, try out the full challenge again.

Today I used my jar of little yellow papers with gift ideas (an earlier gift to myself) and drew out 'give money for Haiti', something I've not managed until now. What a pleasure to finally get it done.

It's good to be back here and to 'switch on' the giving mindset I started developing before. To see the yoga lesson coming up soon as a gift to myself, and to be able to see the sewing my beloved husband asked me to do, as a gift and not a (much disliked) chore.

Many thanks for your support and messages.

love
Elizabeth

Elizabeth, when I was in counseling during and after my divorce years ago, my therapist told me that my smile could light up a room. At the time, that was hard for me to believe. After reading Cami's book, and finishing the first 5 days, what I have come to remember is that, my smile could be a very valuable gift. I never looked at it that way. Maybe on the difficult days, something as simple as your smile, could be the most powerful of any gift you could plan. It looks to me like you have a great one!!
