Day Eight

Today, already, I have given a gift. I started my husband's car for him. He had forgotten his keys in the house when we went out the feed the barnyard, so I grabbed mine and started his car for him.

I like to give randomly and wait for something to present itself to me, but I usually don't think of it as a gift until afterwards and so it doesn't feel as though it is conscious giving. So, I am enjoying this challenge, thus far, on the days I plan my gifts out for the day. It feels more real and conscious to me, even though I am giving throughout the day in little ways.

Later, I am going to let all my staff go home early! We have elections in the building and it seems like a nice break to just go home early on those days than to stay and tiptoe around them.

On the way home from work, I stopped at a friend's house to help them dig post hole for the new barn they are building. They wanted to get the holes dug before the storm tonight. Unfortunately, I was too late to help, they were done, but go to say hello!
