29-Day Giving Challenge

Another new person who decided to take the plunge. I've known about this challenge for a couple of weeks now, but I wasn't ready to start the challenge. Then my life got a bit unsettled and I decided that I needed something good and positive in my life.

Another reason why I wanted to take the challenge (beyond goodness and the fact that I like challenges) is that I'm going to be giving a speech for class about how gratitude and giving can improve your life. This speech was inspired by 29 Day Giving Challenge, but I actually managed to turn it into a good persuasive speech (I hope, as I have yet to give it...). So, I kind of wanted to experience the challenge so that I can add it into my speech on a more personal note.

The reason why I decided to join randomly at 1:30 in the morning? Because I had been thinking about it and just randomly decided that today was a good day to join. It's Thanksgiving, even if our family is a bit unstable at the moment.

My first gift of the day was a clean table. I noticed that our kitchen table was a bit dirty and I know that my mom is going to be cooking tomorrow for the Turkey Day, so I decided to clean the table off for her so that she can have a fresh start. I know that most of the cooking is going to be on her shoulders and she is such a good mom. I also washed my nephew's cups, which was a gift to my mom, my sister, as well as my nephew, I suppose.

I'm also hoping to be able to give a second gift for today. As people may or may not know, this month is National Novel Writing Month ( Nanowrimo ) and one of my friends is a bit worried about making the goal (50,000 words in 30 days), so I offered to write with her. Her goal for tonight is 10,000 words, so I decided to insanely try to write 10,000 words today. I'm going to try to make it, so I think I will be ending this post here. :D

Happy to be doing this challenge!
