29-Day Giving Challenge

I don't know if I will write any more after this. I've really crashed and feel like a failure. Each day I've tried to pick myself back up..... each morning I've spiraled back down. As I mentioned in the beginning.... giving is the easy part..... feeling worthy and making genuine progress is a whole other thing. All of you are such an inspiration...... BUT...

This morning while I was trying to force myself to do all that I need to do , a chickadee flew into the window. I went and checked him out. He looked like he broke his neck though he was breathing so I put a drop of rescue remedy in his beak. A few minutes later he flew away....

I understand that there are times when change seems impossible. I've had a bit of that "it's too much" myself last night. Instead of surrendering to rest, I fought it tooth and nail, which never works. Friends aren't there for discussion, my body grows more weary, my thoughts more jumbled, my hope thinner... some of this process I've seen mirrored in your last blogs.

I think the lesson in those feelings of "not enough" is to slow down. There is no where else we need to be. Not in our thoughts. Not with our bodies. Not with our hearts. Not in our expectations. Just be here now, one breath at a time. One thought at a time. There is enough room in ourselves for all the feelings and thoughts we need to have-- we don't have to push ourselves to rush to a new place of being. What comes later is based on how we handle now. Now is the only place we can live.
I think the gift the chickadee gave you is much different than your interpretation. The chickadee seemed to be seriously injured from flying into an obstacle. But after some rest and nurturing, it went on to do what it is meant to do: fly. So take the gift of this event: honor the chickadee by resting and nurturing yourself. And when you are ready, you will be renewed to effortlessly do what it is you are meant to do.
You don't need to work at this. Your beautiful nature is within you. So give yourself a gift today of restoration. By doing so, you will give all around you the gift of yourself.
Peace & love. I'm looking forward to reading more from you.

oh, I'm so happy that you saved the bird, and so sad that you feel you've failed. In the short time you have been here the few things you've shared have been amazing enlightening things. I can only echo what Genuine said, read Mbali's words and know that whatever you are able to do is enough.
~peace~

Ummm ...
I'm not sure what to say ...
You haven't failed at giving, but you feel like a failure?? Why?
I'm borrowing from Mbali here: just being born is evidence that you are worthy. (Read her discussion called "Throw Me a Bone")
Don't set the bar too high for yourself.
That is a beautiful story about the bird ... and I'm sure life can be full of stories like that ..

Just as your spirit soars so did the bird! You are not a failure my dear Lady you helped a bird to seek life. I wish for you the knowledge in your heart to know you are here for a reason and no matter how small a gift you give it could mean the world to the receiver! Blessings :o)
