29-Day Giving Challenge

I bought 29 Gifts in January while on vacation with my husband. I started the book, then set it aside as we traveled. A couple of nights ago, I picked it up again.
Day 1 happened naturally. The next day after I began reading, I went to a board meeting of a retired teachers organization. The meeting was held at the public library, and the librarian is a friend of mine. She admired my scarf, and I was like, here! Take it! She said, I can't take your scarf! I looked at her red hair, and thought how good the scarf would look on her, and I insisted, take it. I have plenty.
It felt good. I have so many things, so many scarves.
Secondly, I was attending the board meeting on behalf of my friend, who asked me to help with publicity for the organization. I have done a lot of publicity for events, etc., and love to take pictures and write articles. I hate to take on extra responsibilities, now that I'm retired, but I wanted to honor my friend, who helps so many people, including me. Thus, my gift to her, my support in her new endeavor.
Unexpectedly, she offered to buy me lunch, and during the course of the day, gave me two hugs, thanking me for my help. She's not usually a hugger, and I'm not usually a huggee, but it felt like a gift, a special surprise, and I'm grateful.
Day 2, I had one of my best friends over for our weekly (when I'm home) work night. We're both quilters and scrapbookers, and when I'm home, we try to meet to get something accomplished. Since she's still teaching full time, many nights she just needs to talk about work and relax. My gift to her is a bottle of Fetzer's Gewurztraminer and a bag of dark chocolate Chex Mix, and listening. I've been there. I know how important it is to get it all out. I'm glad to give this gift, and hopefully make it easier for her to get through the week.
What will I do tomorrow? I don't know, don't have a plan. But I'm confident something will occur to me, because I've already started to give smiles and hold doors open and all the other small stuff that keeps the world going in a smooth way. And it's only been 2 days!!!!!
